Creation of an innovative pneumatic sprayer for vineyards 

Nowadays we detect among the agricultural growers an increasing need of buying the right pneumatic sprayers that would be able to perform focused effective, sustainable treatments for big vineyards land plots and at the same time for crops whose economical viability could be guaranteed.

To meet the needs of the market, TEYME, a company at the vanguard of the pneumatic sprayers for vineyard, has started a project to create an innovating pneumatic sprayer for vineyard thanks to the co-funding action of the EC, as recipient company of the INSTRUMENT for SME HORIZON 2020. In December of 2017 we concluded successfully the first phase of the project financed by the EU. This programme is being developed according to our philosophy of constant improvement and the continuous research of our R&D department to offer always a superior quality in our spraying machines for the crops' protection. For this reason, we also receive the support of the Bureau of European projects of PIMEC (Association of SME Companies in Catalonia).

HORIZON 2020 is the financial tool for the Innovation Union, an EU strategy to create a favourable environment for innovation which eases the transformation of big ideas into products and services to enhance the global competition in Europe and stimulate the economic growth so as to create more job vacancies. Thus, investing on research is a future asset and in TEYME we bet on it. Gathering research and innovation, HORIZON 2020 is contributing to the economical growth stressing on the scientific excellence, the industrial leadership and the fight against the social challenges, suppressing the barriers to the innovation and easening the work between the public and private entities.

With this project, in TEYME we have deepened into the knowledge of the needs of the agricultural sector and confirmed the assumptions made by the main vineyard producer countries about the increasing need of new enviromentally-conscious agricultural machinery for bioecological applications.

Benefits for the new pneumatic sprayer for vineyard

The project aims at facing the challenge of reducing the dangers and risks for the health and the environment arisen from the use of pesticides and plaguicide. This is attempted to be achieved by means of an innovating pneumatic sprayer for vineyard which will allow agricultural growers:

• To reduce the use of phytosanitary product in pneumatic sprayers' applications: approximately a 30% (depending on the vegetation index)
• To reduce the labour hours and the consumption of tractor fuel
• To reduce the consumption of fertilizer
• To achieve better performances
• To increase grapes' quality
• To reduce vineyard pollution due to pesticides

The continuous research of our engineering department alongwith our experience during more than 40 years in manufacturing agricultural machinery allow us to offer a vast range of first class pneumaticspraying machines, serving the needs of the agricultural growers to improve the future of the agricultural sector. For this reason, initiatives as the HORIZON 2020 project suppose a great opportunity for us as well as a new challenge to improve.
